Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa, was founded by The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Lagos, Western and Northern Areas (LAWNA) Territory. The University was named after Pastor Samuel Adegboyega(MON) who was one of the eminent founding fathers of The Apostolic Church Nigeria; the first LAWNA Territorial Chairman and first field superintendent of TAC, West African Region. As a national icon, he was appointed Honorary Juror in the Nigerian judiciary and Associate Jury of the juvenile court. The institution received licence from the National Universities Commission on Monday March 7, 2011 as the 45th Private and 117th overall in the Nigerian university system.
SAU is progressively putting in place unique academic programmes which, among others, include:
1. Wholesome education for intellectual and spiritual development of her students
2. Comprehensive education that shall make students to be ICT comfortable and graduate with three certificates, viz:
A. Degree certificate in chosen academic programme
B. Entrepreneurial skill training certificate, and
C. Certificate in professional studies in affiliation with relevant professional bodies.
D. Mounting local and overseas training programme for all categories of staff (academic, administrative and technical).
