The people of Ogwa community in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State have expressed their profound gratitude over a water project provided for the community by the management of Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa.
The position of the community was made known by the Onogie of Ogwa land, His Royal Highness, Zaiki Victor Ehizogie II, while commissioning the water project earlier today. According to the Onogie, Samuel Adegboyega University had kept to its promise of providing a sustainable water project for his community. He noted that having a sustainable potable water source had remained a major challenge to Ogwa community for many decades. He expressed the hope that the project would be sustained.
Speaking during the commissioning, the Vice Chancellor of Samuel Adegboyega University, Prof. Benard E. Aigbokhan, said the University has responded to the yearnings of the community members by providing a good water source for them. According to the Vice Chancellor, the Water Project was part of the University’s Corporate Social Responsibilities. He promised that brighter days were ahead as the University would do more for the community as resources improve.
In his vote of thanks, the Registrar of the University, Mr. Bamidele Olotu, appreciated the efforts of the University in providing a free potable water source for the community. Responding, the Community Relations Officer of the University, Mr. Innocent Alegbe, said his community was happy with the project and would reciprocate by ensuring that the University enjoys continuous peace.
